2022 Spring Clean-Up Weekend
and Scrap Tire Collection
This event, held on May 14 and 15, 2022
was a huge success!
The Township disposed of 642 tires, 9 Ton of waste, and numerous electronics were collected to be recycled.
Special thanks to the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District for awarding grant funds which offset the cost of the event.
The Fiscal Officer secured the following grants to fund the event:
-
Scrap Tire Grant: up to $2623.00
-
The cost of disposal in 2022 was $2408.00, so the tire disposal for residents in the unincorporated area of Newton Township has been fully funded.
-
-
Go Green Grant: $3500.00 max.
-
Expenditures for the spring clean-up for waste disposal totaled $2025.00.
